Community services:community resource/advocacy services assists program participants in resolving social, medical, housing and other issues that present a barrier to reaching their vocational goals. a total of 5,954 services were provided in 2017. the medical equipment loan program provides short term loans of durable medical equipment to anyone with a permanent or temporary disability. equipment available for loan includes walkers, commodes, bath chairs, transfer benches and wheelchairs. the equipment loan program served 1,192 people needing durable medical equipment during 2017. this program ended in november 2017. in addition, we provided 69,352 lbs of medical equipment to mission groups.the work incentives program is the only program in the state that provides benefits planning assistance to low-income individuals. the program provides clear, accurate information on disability benefits, food support, public healthcare, subsidized housing and other government benefits, reducing fear and ensuring that people can make informed decisions.
