Expert witness training academy:the expert witness training academy ("the academy") is a program offering annual workshops aimed at training expert witnesses to effectively communicate the principles of expert witness knowledge, research, testing and experience. the academy is designed to provide a structure for scientists and attorneys to discuss, in a collaborative setting, how best to achieve the goal of providing technical scientific data, interpretation of data and extrapolation from the data in a court of law or other legal proceeding without compromising the integrity of the data or straying from ethical and legal principles. the workshops incorporate legal theory and practical wisdom consistent with mitchell hamline's teaching methodology. this one-week training program reached more than 20 scientists and also includes students.
Legal education - non jd programs:the institutes for dispute resolution and health law became part of the school effective december 8, 2015. the dispute resolution institute offers rigorous academic discourse, hands-on simulation experience and cross-disciplinary examination of conflict theory, advocacy and problem solving in domestic and study abroad courses for students. the health law institute offers specialized courses to bridge the gap between health law scholarship and policy. it is a hub for the health law community providing programs, training and educational opportunities, events and symposia for law students, attorneys, health care practioners, and business professionals.
