Mission service programs - goodwill - suncoast helps people secure training, find jobs, become more independent, and support their families through a variety of programs including job connection services, employment training and internships, youth development services, service coordination for housing residents, financial literacy for youth, and free gowns for young women who may not be able to afford them, offered with career services. these programs assist individuals with disabilities as well as those who face other disadvantages such as lack of training or education. total people served: 90,633. here is a story of one of the many people served in mission services: destin is a kind, hardworking young man whose proud and supportive family has cheered him on every step of the way. as a young adult on the autism spectrum, he once found workplace social interactions challenging - often struggling to connect or respond to greetings. with encouragement from his project search coach and team, destin learned to recognize social cues, build confidence, and develop valuable professional skills. during the 2024-2025 school year, destin completed three internship rotations in plant operations, maintenance, and groundskeeping at the host site, pinellas county schools administration building. a proud countryside high school graduate, he had a clear goal from the start: to become a plant operator for the district-ideally at his alma mater. through focus, professionalism, and determination, destin achieved that goal! in march 2025, during his third rotation, he interviewed for a plant operator position at countryside high school - and was offered the job on the spot. since then, he has become an indispensable member of the team, admired by his supervisors - several of whom attended his project search graduation in may. his mother's role as a guest speaker added a special personal touch to t
