To establish, operate, manage, promote, and cultivate educational related activities for the students and faculty of the suny downstate health sciences university and to aid the students, faculty, and adminstration. in addition, to upgrade and expand the facilities to advance the institution's mission.
The hscb foundation supports the recruitment of adminstrative positions at downstate health sciences university. in addition, consulting services including public relations, advice on fundraising, student psychological evaluations, organizational improvements, and legal services are provided by the foundation. the organization also operates rental properties.
The health science center at brooklyn foundation holds several medical and scientific symposiums and conferences on campus. these conferences are open to the public as well as to members of the medical and scientific community. in addition, the foundation provides support to the faculty that are invited as speakers for symposiums and conferences that are held off-campus and for professional meetings. the foundation also provides support for professional programs and exams that will further the development of the faculty. the foundation provides support to several community, department, and city-wide programs. some of those programs are brooklyn free clinic, the children's center at brooklyn, infant and child learning center, and the arthur ashe institute.
