Wildlands: re:wild expands the protection, restoration, and improved management of key biodiversity areas and intact forests. re:wild and its partners are advancing the protection of over 81 million hectares and supporting the improved management of 159 million hectares globally. this includes active restoration of more than 2 million hectares across 78 sites of global importance. specific examples include: guafo island acquisition: in a landmark move, re:wild led the acquisition of 52,374 acres of privately held land on guafo island, chile. this secures the island from extractive development and creates the foundation for a future national park.indigenous land demarcation: successfully achieved the official demarcation of 10 indigenous lands in brazil, a critical step in safeguarding the amazon and supporting indigenous land tenure.brazil: acquired 953 hectares for the so benedito and azul rivers wildlife refuge.haiti: secured leasing rights for 210 hectares of primary forest in the bois pangnol corridor.

Guardians: re:wild works to ensure that anyone in a position to rewild the planet has agency to do so. in particular, re:wild equips and emboldens earth's guardians rangers, young and aspiring conservationists, indigenous peoples and local communities, and women to strengthen their ability to deliver high-impact conservation results.indigenous governance: directed $11.5 million (21% of portfolio) to indigenous and local communities and established the indigenous fund deliberative committee in brazil to manage pngati funds.carbon market safeguards: convened over 70 participants in kenya to ensure that indigenous peoples and local communities have a leading role and social safeguards in emerging carbon markets.amazonian fire protection: equipped and supported 250 firefighters to protect the amazonian biome in mato grosso, brazil.capacity & workforce: iconic oceans: scaled mentorship to 70 participants focusing on shark conservation and edna across four countries.conservation corps: funded 67 alumni of the california statewide conservation corps to enter climate-focused careers.

Advocating for earth: re:wild works to promote greater recognition of the importance of conserving biodiversity.keepers of biodiversity: we partnered with an indigenous storytelling collective to produce keepers of biodiversity-a powerful video series spotlighting indigenous leadership around the world in protecting the planet. timed for cop16, it called on world leaders to recognize and uphold indigenous knowledge, governance and rights as essential to solving the climate and biodiversity crises. the videos were viewed more than 300,000 times across our platforms alone. indigenous rights: we launched an ongoing campaign with the southeast indigenous transboundary commission (seitc) urging canada and british columbia to consult southeast alaska tribes on cross-border mining that threatens their livelihoods, cultures, and food systems. the effort began with a call for the inter-american commission on human rights to pause mining activities violating the rights of 17 tribes.aldabra tortoise campaign: we used our earth alliance impact platform to amplify a campaign by our partners friends of aldabra in a fight against the development of a luxury hotel in the seychelles. the project threatened the future of the aldabra giant tortoise and 400 other species found nowhere else on earth. individuals from around the world signed the petition calling for an end to the project.
