University of arizona medical center-south campus is a 197 bed, full service hospital that provides vital medical services to the citizens of southern arizona. the hospital provides patients with direct access to the expertise, groundbreaking research, and the latest treatments of the university of arizona college of medicine. the hospital is located in a primarily underserved area and gives citizens easy access to emergency and specialty care.
The university of arizona physicians (uap) is the practice plan of the faculty-physicians of the university of arizona college of medicine. serving as the largest physician practice in arizona, it employs more than 700 physicians who are the full-time faculty of the university of arizona college of medicine. uap physicians practice at the university of arizona health network's hospitals and at numerous hospitals and clinics across tucson, southern arizona, and nevada. as faculty of the ua college of medicine, uap physicians educate more than 500 medical students and train nearly as many post-graduate medical residents annually. they also conduct research at the university of arizona's cancer center, steele children's research center, arizona arthritis center, sarver heart center, and many other facilities and programs.
