Domestic disaster services: the american red cross responds to about 60,000 disasters every year. the american red cross helps communities prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters by providing food, shelter, relief supplies, emotional comfort, health services, financial assistance and other support to help people in their time of greatest need. in fy25, more than 249,000 households received over 1,200,000 relief items and more than 274,000 overnight shelter and hotel stays were provided. major disaster responses in fy25 include but are not limited to: hurricane beryl, hurricane debby, hurricane helene, hurricane milton, hurricane francine, los angeles wildfires, storms and floods in the midwest and the south; and wildfires out west. the american red cross long term recovery efforts are ongoing in many of these disaster-impacted communities.

Training services: the american red cross helps people prepare for and respond to health and safety emergencies through our lifesaving education and training programs. in fy25, nearly 6.3 million people received red cross training in first aid, water safety and other skills that help save lives.

Service to the armed forces: the american red cross serves the military community from the moment a service member takes their oath to the time they're navigating life as a veteran. in fy25, the american red cross provided more than 295,000 services to service members, veterans and their families and briefed more than 410,000 service members and their families through the service to the armed forces outreach program.
